Joakim Noah will be training with Lakers legend and one of the greatest NBA players ever, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, over the off-season.
He didn’t need to befriend every good player in the league or link up with anybody who became a free agent. Rose hasn’t found that he needs a nickname or carefully crafted image.
He’s a doer, a leader, charismatic in a way perhaps only Chicagoans understand — without smiling and clowning and dancing and posing, kind of like a young Dick Butkus. He has represented Chicago in a way even Michael Jordan couldn’t.
Jordan is an adopted son, Rose a native son.

A sad trend has started to developed in the first round of the 2012 playoffs. It started in Philadelphia when Sixers fans cheered Joakim Noah’s injury and it happened again in Memphis last night.
The biggest bone of contention with Blake Griffin is his flopping. Griffin isn’t tough enough. He falls down with the slightest touch. So when he went down late in the third quarter after making contact with Marc Gasol, the fans at FedEx Forum began to boo and Twitter started to call Griffin, “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”.
I would hope at this point we as basketball fans would be able to tell the difference between a flop and an actual injury. Obviously watching the game on television, I had a better understanding of what happened and the knowledge that the knee Griffin strained was the same leg that he injured back in 2009 and sidelined him for an entire season. This isn’t a soccer and a trainer isn’t going to come out with a magical spray can, when a trainer comes to the floor, it’s probably an injury.
Fans have the right to boo any player they want, but can we just hold off when it comes to an injury? If the injury was faked, then boo the player as soon as he gets back up and runs around the court.
As for Griffin and Paul’s injuries: Blake Griffin sprained his left knee and is expected to have an MRI today and Paul has a sore right hip.

I can’t even begin to describe my love for Derrick Rose. He’s not only an amazing player, but an amazing person too. He doesn’t deserve what happened to him yesterday. He put his all out there and played an amazing game. What happened to him wasn’t anyone’s fault. You can blame it on Thibs or whoever you want but it wasn’t anyone’s fault. Chicago needs Derrick, but we have a strong team that’s going to pick it up for him. In my opinion, Derrick Rose is the best and this is absolutely devastating. I wish nothing but the best for him. We’re going to miss him but we’re going to win this round for him. No one plays like Derrick Rose. No one can stop him or shut him down. He’s a one of a kind player. You can’t help but love Derrick and watch his every move on the court. His explosiveness and energy is contagious. Derrick Rose is hands down the most humble player. He doesn’t take anything for granted and works hard for his team and his city. I think everyone can learn from Derrick Rose. He’s such an amazing person and I just want the best for him. A speedy recovery and a healthy comeback. We’re going to miss him big time but we’ll see him in January. I support him no matter what. MVP.
A brutal conclusion to yesterday’s playoff win, but this Bull’s squad has been a TEAM all year, and they’re not quitting. Perhaps they can do something special for themselves, for us, and for Derrick!
